SpongeBob, as he appears in the show's eleventh season

"I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready!"
―SpongeBob SquarePants

SpongeBob SquarePants (born July 14, 1986; age 31) is the main protagonist, and the eponymous character, of the Nickelodeon animated comedy series of the same name. He was designed by marine biologist and animator Stephen Hillenburg, and is voiced by Tom Kenny. SpongeBob is a childish, joyful, eccentric sea sponge who lives in a pineapple in the underwater city of Bikini Bottom. He works as a fry cook at The Krusty Krab, a job that he is exceptionally skilled. SpongeBob lacks a lot of knowledge and is a constant annoyance to those around him (especially Squidward Tentacles), but he is very good-natured. He appears in all of the episodes in the series (except the Season 3 episode "The Algae's Always Greener", where his alternate universe counterpart appeared instead), and he was soon to be Nickelodeon's main mascot.

T.J. Productions Comic UniverseEdit

SpongeBob has made a few appearances in both Cletus Comics and Sibling Rivalries, though these mostly consist of scenes with SpongeBob being seen on the TV. He has, however, made physical appearances in early comics of CC as gags, then disappeared from the series and was not mentioned again. He was shown on TV in the SR comics "Love is What Makes the World Go 'Round" and "Portrait of a Football Player". He also appeared in an easter egg cameo in "ApRiL fOoLs DaY: wIsCoNsIn StYlE!", where he and Patrick Star appear in their "surprised" form from The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie after hearing Claude Tena "talk" for the first time.

The character last appeared in Sibling Rivalries: The Next Chapter comic "In Loving Memory of Aiden McReary", where, during a flashback of Packie and his biological father, SpongeBob was shown on the TV set in the background, as well as the old Nickeloden logo being visible in the corner.
