"I think I'll miss our old home in Vancouver."
"I will too. But hey, this is much better and roomier than our old house.
"
―Packie and Francis

The McReary-Wilson Residence is the house that the McReary-Wilson Family live in, serving as main setting of Sibling Rivalries.

Description[]

The house is two stories with a big field in front, and an easily accessible roof with a grill and chair up on top. The house has a garage on its left side.

In "Hello, Wisconsin!" the house was said to be a "mansion", although it has always been depicted as an average middle-class home, and confirmed as such in "Pockets Full of Posey('s Love)", when Francis compares his home to that of Ava Posey's, whose parents are the proclaimed "richest family in Green Bay".

According to GTA Nerd, the house would be located on either Trojan Drive or Laredo Lane, both real-life roads in a residential area of Green Bay. Their house is a short walk from the siblings' current school, Ramon Peterson School, as well as their future school, Green Bay Southwest High School.

Places in the House[]

First Floor[]

Living Room[]

The living room is first seen in the Season 1 comic "Gonzales Vs. McReary", and, since late Season 2, has been the primary setting of the series.

Some main features include:

  • A coffee table is right in the middle, directly in front of the main couch that the characters sit on
  • A television is in front of said couch and coffee table, first appearing as a CRT TV and eventually being replaced by a flatscreen
  • On the left and ride side of the main couches are two other couches, all surrounding the coffee table
  • A sliding door and PC are to the left of the TV, with the sliding door allowing access to the backyard
  • To the right of the TV is the door to Maureen and Hector (the siblings' parents)'s room
  • Behind the main couch are two doors that lead to the guest room/Zack's room

Kitchen[]

The kitchen is first seen in the Season 1 comic "The McRearys Get Schooled!", continuing immediately after Maureen and Hector's bedroom door; there is an opening between the wall and the long counter that stretches alongside the wall; behind the counter is the sink , dishwasher, and cabinets.

The main table is located on the left side of the kitchen. To the right, alongside the back wall is the pantry, refrigerator, and more cabinets. Alongside the right side is the stove, with the microwave located right above it.

Gerry's Bedroom[]

Gerry's room is right across from Derrick and Kate's, and is to the right of the downstairs bathroom. When entering, there is a small hallway, and where the hallway ends has the closet located on the wall that connects to the main room.

As expected, the room is heavily football-themed: The dresser has football-shaped handles, football-shaped lamp, football cards, football-shaped clock, and football-shaped radio.

Gerry has a small nightstand on the right side of his bed, which currently holds the aforementioned radio.

A curtain with "NFL" written on it, a box reading "Box o' Football Player Figures" and "Box o' Football Cards", football-shaped rug, and football-shaped TV are the last features of the room.

Gerry currently has a Drew Brees and a poster of Patrick Mahomes II hanging on the left and ride sides of the TV, respectively.

The closet of the room is on the right side of Gerry's bed.

Maureen and Hector Wilson's Bedroom[]

The bedroom of the McReary siblings' room is near the kitchen, and did not first appear until Season 9 comic "Wi-Fi Gone Awry". This master bedroom has the bed, TV, and dressers to the left, and to the right, another door leads to their bathroom. Going further down the bathroom then leads to another door which is their closet. On the right side of the bathroom door has a shelf which holds the urn of Aiden McReary.

Derrick and Kate's Bedroom[]

By the kitchen is a hallway, where Derrick and Kate's room is to the left, across from Gerry's. The room is separated into two sides, with the left being Derrick's side, and right being Kate's side. Derrick's side includes: a desk with lamp, waste bin, and a board where Derrick posts the assignments that he got good grades on.

Kate's side originally included: a toy box, a heart-shaped rug, a desk where Kate can do her makeup at, and a dollhouse. As of later comics, however, Kate only has her own billboard on the wall where she posts pictures of her and Mark, and her toy box was moved under the TV. The bed is in the middle of the two sides, with Kate's side on the right being represented by a heart on the blanket, and Derrick's side on the left having no indications. Both siblings apparently shared the same bed early on, but now have their own beds.

Their TV is located on Kate's side of the room to the left of the main door. On the right side has Derrick's "I ♥ Math" poster.

In "Journey to the Bottom of the Pool", a dotted lines goes right down the middle of the room to indicate the separate sides. Not to mention, in the middle of the room is a small dresser, which Derrick has his math trophies sitting on top of.

Bathroom[]

The first floor bathroom is located to the left of Gerry's room. When one enters the restroom, the sink and cabinets are on the far left (its left side contains the toilet paper holder). , toilet to the right, and shower at the right end of the restroom.

Guest Room/Zack Marshall's Room[]

The guest room is right behind the main couch, accessible via two big doors. The room originally appeared in "Uncle Cameron Moves In", offering nothing but a bed, and also a large closet presumably for the entire family's needs.

When Zachary Marshall moved in to the house, the room was completely revamped and given to him. He has a bed, nightlight, Avengers and Marvel-themed furniture, turtle tank, TV and shelf for a console on the wall, and his own small wardrobe as to not affect the existing closet.

Spandrel[]

The spandrel (small room under the staircase) debuted in Season 10 comic "Maureen Be Not Proud". The room is apparently neglected by the family and has not been used in years. All that exists inside are an old lamp (with a bad, exposed wire which poses a hazard) and a wooden chest. The siblings use the room as a hideout to plan out surprises to give to their mother (as she is sad in the comic due to the loss of her father). Their gifts, homemade cards, and song scripts were kept in the chest. The room was destroyed in the same comic, as well as the staircase, when a fire erupted within the room. In Season 11 comic "Warriors Weekend Getaway", the spandrel is revealed to have been restored; this is the room that Steve Madison "rents" when the Wisconsin Warriors" turn the house into a Bed & Breakfast.

Second Floor[]

Laundry Room[]

The laundry room is right from the stairs. It contains a washer, dryer, and shelves for necessary detergents and soaps.

Packie and Francis' Bedroom[]

The room of the story's two main characters is located to the right of the laundry room, and directly across of the second floor restroom. On the left side near the door contains shelves of their video games, and to the right below that is a desk with a gaming PC (originally a fish tank was there, but the fish may have died and they got rid of the tank). The closet is to the right of the desk.

Packie and Francis' bunk bed is located across from the bed. To the right of that is their nightstand, usually depicting a digital alarm clock and a lamp. Spencer's bed and food bowl are to the right of said nightstand.

A toy box (seen to have Francis' baby pictures) currently resides to the left of the big dresser.

The TV and big dresser are on the same wall as the main door into the room. Said dresser originally held their DirecTV receiver (which is odd as the house depicts no such satellite anywhere on the outside), their PS3, and movies. In recent comics, only the PS3 and PS4 (with a PS5 replacing the PS4 starting from 2023) remain on this dresser, and their movies/games are now on their own shelf on the other side of the room. It is unknown what happened to the DirecTV receiver or how the boys now watch TV (they probably stick to streaming services).

Aiden Wilson, the McReary siblings' baby half-brother, is said to now share Packie and Francis's room, although he hasn't actually been seen in their room yet, and it is unknown where his crib would have even fit. Aiden was removed from the series by Season 6, so this was no longer an issue.

Bathroom[]

The second floor bathroom (specifically labeled as belonging to Packie and Francis) is right across from their bedroom. It opens to have the shower on far left, the toilet right next to the shower on the right, and the sink on the right of the bathroom (its right side contains the toilet paper holder).

The shower curtains have an aquatic theme with pictures of fish. They also have pictures of Eminem and Cletus on the wall. In "Hello, Wisconsin!", Francis mentions that the toilet seat is heated, something which was not mentioned again until "How The Cookies Crumble", with the "Heat-A-Tron" toilet appearing; the seat appears to be soft, and has a remote to presumably adjust the temperature.

Roof[]

The roof of the house can be accessed from a door on the second floor. One must climb a few steps and enter out of a hatch to get onto the roof. The roof has a grill for barbecuing, and plenty of fold-up chairs (the others stacked in a pile while only one stays open permanently) for anybody to sit up there and relax. In every comic with an outside shot of the house, a grill and one fold-up chair is always visible. The roof first appeared in non-canon Season 3 comic "Meet The Robots!", and would not be seen again for a long time until Season 8 comic "Pack To The Future". Additional appearances included two Season 9 comics, "McReary TV" and "Home Sweet Home", and Season 10 comic "Sickling Rivalries".

House Fire[]

In the Season 10 comic "Maureen Be Not Proud", the house was nearly destroyed on Christmas 2020, when a fire within the spandrel erupted, destroying the room and staircase. The fire was accidentally caused when Gerry was crying in the room, and his tears landed on an exposed part of the lamp's wire. The family woke up to the smell of smoke and the beeping of the fire alarm. Packie and Francis were trapped on the second floor, and escaped to the roof, where they were brought down by a fire truck's ladder. Firefighers entered the house and put down the fire, although the area was in a bad state.

By the end of the comic, the family had to temporarily live in a motel, as the house needed to be completely aired out from the carbon dioxide. Hector mentions having to pay a huge sum of money to repair the stairs. By the next comic, the family has returned to the house, with Francis joking that the new stairs feel different on his feet.

Trivia[]

  • Gerry and Zack are the only residents to not share their room with anybody.
  • The Season 1 comic "Yearning to be Young", is the only comic to entirely take place inside the house, as the outside world is never seen. Season 9 comic "Home Sweet Home" comes close, but it also spends plenty of scenes in the front yard.
  • The house lacks an attic and basement.

Appearances[]

The house appears in every comic of the series, except for the following comics:
