Carl "CJ" Johnson is the protagonist of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. His story begins in 1992 when, after living in Liberty City for five years, returns to his home of Los Santos, San Andreas after hearing his mother pass away. CJ helps his gang, the Grove Street Families, rise back to power while also learning about who was responsible for his mother's death.
