Claude Speed is the protagonist of Grand Theft Auto 2. Claude lives in Anywhere City, which is a futuristic city (GTA 2 is possibly set in 2013). His status is unknown, since in the "GTA 2 Movie" Claude is shot and killed, but this never happened in the game.
- Notice his artwork looks similar to GTA IV protagonist Niko Bellic, with similar hair and facial looks.
- Claude Speed, nor Anywhere City, are ever mentioned again in the series (which is strange because Liberty City, Vice City, and San Andreas are the only cities to reappear over and over).
- Many people think Claude Speed reappears in Grand Theft Auto III as Claude, but it is obvious that they are two different people.
- Upon close inspection of Claude Speed's rapsheet in the intro movie, it reveals that he is 28 during GTA 2, which is set in 2013. If Claude Speed is in fact Claude from GTA III, this would make Claude 15-17 during GTA III, set in 2001, and 6-8 years old in GTA San Andreas, set in 1992. This makes it impossible that they are the same character, unless Claude's rap sheet is fake or non-canonical. However, if GTA 2 is actually set in 1999 as some in-game references may indicate, then Claude would be 20-22 in GTA San Andreas, and 29-31 in GTA III.
